The latest round of community grants will be agreed by the Worthing County Local Committee next week.

The meeting takes place at 7pm on Wednesday, October 24 at St Paul’s Arts Centre, 55b Chapel Road, Worthing, BN11 1EE.

The Committee is to consider eight grant applications for Community Initiative Funding from groups in the Worthing area.

Chairman Bob Smytherman said: “The Community Initiative Fund provides vital financial help for all manner of good causes and events in the Worthing area.

“For example, it has meant the Sussex Junior Chess Tournament can take place at Broadwater School next Thursday, and has allowed Worthing High School to purchase a new community notice board.

“We encourage any local organisations or groups to put in an application for a grant if there is a particular project they need additional support for.”

Elsewhere on the agenda, the public have an opportunity to speak about any issue bothering them during the ‘Talk With Us’ forum, and there will be an update on highways projects affecting the area.
