Worthing Youth Council support Worthing Mayor’s Christmas Carol Concert

On Monday 9th December, Worthing Youth Council will support the Mayor’s annual Christmas carol service in aid of the Mayor’s charities.
The Mayor’s fundraising activities this year are in support of local charities in supporting and raising awareness of mental health issues.

The three charities are; Guildcare, Alzheimers Society and Coastal West Sussex Mind.
Worthing Youth Council have been working with the Mayor of Worthing in organising the annual Christmas carol service to be held at St Mary of the Angels Church on Monday 9th December.

The Mayor and Mayoress will be accompanied by the Youth Mayor and Deputy Youth Mayor of Worthing along with members from the Worthing Youth Council. Youth Councillors will be involved in giving readings and leading prayers to those attending. Children from local primary schools have been invited to attend and to receive Christingles.

The service will be broadcast live online between 18:30 to 20:30 and can be viewed by visiting www.stmaryoftheangels.org.uk
The Worthing Youth Council is an apolitical organisation that work closely with Worthing Borough Council, to ensure that the views and voices of local young people are heard and taken in to consideration when the council and other organisations make decisions that affect young people in the borough.
His Worshipful, The Mayor , Bob Smytherman said;

“I am delighted to have the support of the Worthing Youth Council in this annual event and for them to be involved in leading parts of the service. Supporting these local charities and raising awareness of mental health issues in the community is something I am very passionate about.”
Brogan Kirkby-Bott, Youth Mayor of Worthing said;

“When the Youth Council were asked if we would like to be involved in organising the carol service, we were all really excited to have the opportunity to be able to support such worthwhile local charities. We are all looking forward to attending and would like to thank the Mayor for involving us in this event.”
